Channel drop alerts

Get an Email the Moment a YouTube Channel Goes Live

Stop refreshing and stop trusting the bell icon. Add any YouTube channel and LiveScript emails you within a minute of a new video or live stream - and can auto-start a real-time, searchable transcript so you're ready the second you open it.

Pro feature. Also see live YouTube transcripts.

Why YouTube's own "live" notifications let you down

If you actually need to be there when a channel goes live - for an earnings stream, a breaking-news desk, a creator's drop, or a prediction-market event - YouTube's bell is not built for you. It notifies only a slice of subscribers, lands late, and gives you nothing but a tap. LiveScript turns "they're live" into a direct email and a transcript you can immediately search.

    YouTube bell notifications

    • Only sent to some subscribers
    • Often delayed or never arrive
    • Easy to miss in a busy feed
    • No transcript, no search

    LiveScript drop alerts

    • Direct email within ~a minute
    • Per-channel, not a noisy feed
    • Auto-starts a real-time transcript
    • Open the email, search every word

    How it works

    Three steps. Under a minute.

    1. 1

      Paste the YouTube channel

In LiveScript's Drop alerts page, paste the channel URL or @handle for any public YouTube channel you want to watch.

    2. 2

      Choose auto-transcribe

Leave 'Auto-transcribe when it drops' on to have LiveScript start a real-time transcript automatically, or turn it off for an alert-only email.

    3. 3

Get the email the moment it drops

When the channel uploads a new video or goes live, we email you within about a minute with a direct link - and, if enabled, a transcript that's already building.

    What you get

    Email the moment it drops

A direct email within ~a minute of the channel posting or going live - to the address on your account.

    Auto-transcribe on

Optionally start a real-time transcript automatically, so it's already building when you click through.

    Any public YouTube channel

Paste a channel URL or @handle. Watch as many channels as you need, each firing independently.

    Search every word

Open the live transcript and search the full history of the stream as it grows - not just the last few captions.

    Sends once, then pauses

No repeat spam. Each alert sends on the next drop and waits for you to reactivate it in one click.

    No tab required

We do the watching server-side. You don't have to keep YouTube - or LiveScript - open.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I get an email when a YouTube channel goes live?+

Open LiveScript, go to Drop alerts, and paste the channel's URL or @handle. The next time that channel posts a video or starts a live stream, we email you within a minute - no need to keep YouTube open or rely on the bell icon.

Does it work for normal uploads, or only live streams?+

Both. LiveScript watches the channel's video feed, so you're emailed whether the channel publishes a regular upload or starts a live stream - whichever drops next. It's not limited to live broadcasts.

Does it also transcribe the stream automatically?+

Yes. Leave the "Auto-transcribe when it drops" box ticked and LiveScript starts a searchable transcript the moment the video drops - live streams transcribe in real time, and regular uploads are transcribed too - so it's already building by the time you open the email. Untick it if you only want the heads-up email.

    How fast is the alert?+

LiveScript polls each watched channel about every 30 seconds, so you typically get the email within a minute of the video appearing. YouTube's own notifications are often delayed or never arrive - this is built to be reliable.

How is this different from YouTube's bell notifications?+

YouTube's bell only notifies a fraction of subscribers and is easy to miss in a crowded feed. LiveScript emails you directly for the specific channels you care about, and can kick off a transcript automatically - turning a 'they're live' ping into something you can immediately search for the words that matter.

Can I watch more than one channel?+

Yes. Add as many channels as you need. Each alert sends once when the channel drops, then switches off so you don't get repeat emails - reactivate it in one click to catch the next drop.

    Is this free?+

Channel drop alerts are a Pro feature. Pro ($19.99/month, or a $4.99 Day Pass) also unlocks real-time transcripts with no delay, unlimited streams, keyword alerts, and VTT/SRT export.

Which channels and platforms are supported?+

Any public YouTube channel - paste the channel URL or @handle. Twitch live alerts are on the roadmap. For transcribing a stream you already have open, LiveScript also supports Twitch and, via the Chrome extension, any site that plays audio.
